The “Future of IP” workshop, organized by the at and held from 26th to 28th April 2026, brought together legal scholars, innovators, policymakers, researchers, and technology professionals to explore the evolving landscape of intellectual property in the digital age. The workshop focused on emerging issues surrounding artificial intelligence, digital innovation, copyright, patents, data governance, and technology regulation, while emphasizing the need for adaptive IP frameworks that support creativity, innovation, and economic growth in Africa. Through panel discussions, interactive sessions, and expert presentations, participants examined the opportunities and challenges posed by rapidly advancing technologies and discussed strategies for shaping inclusive and future-ready intellectual property policies.
